Luke 4:1 - He was full of the Holy Spirit and led into a wilderness, by that same Spirit, for 40 days. Alone. No one to carry Him in prayer, with words, with physical touch. Desolation all around. Symbolic of utter depravity. A Sinless Savior sitting among stones and snakes and suffering endless seconds. Satan uses Scripture to deceive Him. Exchange your soul for happiness here and honor here and satisfaction here. Didn't work. Luke 4:4 ~ "It is Written" ~ 3 Words. Make this my mantra for what I face next. What is the truth? It is written...
None of us are out of the snare of the Enemy of this World. He can touch us but He cannot have us. So, give him back what is written. Let the Word of Christ richly dwell in you, Col 3:16. His Word is the Hammer that breaks the rocks to pieces, Jer 23:29. His Word is like fire within. His Word is like snow melting on warm hearts, Psa 147:16. His Word is our oxygen. His Words are not idle words for this day; they are our very life, Deut 32:47! So live and love and learn His Word as though your life depended on it, it does!
"It is written" is our defense, and as you said, Bev, our life, our oxygen. I don't appreciate our freedom to read and hold His holy Word enough. Moments like today, I'm starkly reminded how blessed we are to have wisdom and love always available in the Bible.
ReplyDeleteBev, I got your text and am praying for God to release you from this suffering and for you to have strength to sustain. Sometimes, our hearts feel so stepped on. You have such a beautiful heart for Him. You testify so well through it all. Praying for relief for you, God's restoration.
Angie, also lifting you up this morning and the Lamb family, your sister's healing, and Zack and their whole family's favor, and for you, my friend--there's plenty of God's Grace to go around. Hang in there--you are a special sister to be there for her in their need.
And Mary Lou--praying for your heart to strengthen in the wait~
“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” (Isaiah 40:31)
“Wait on the Lord and be of good courage; and he will strengthen your heart.” (Ps. 27:14)
Deborah, Sylvia, Jan, Michele: remembering you this morning in prayer as well. He sees your hearts set on Him and touches each of your lives so sweetly.
And Pearls who may be reading, and silent: We stand together. Our motto, "It is written" May be all awaken to His blessing on our lives.
I am so grateful for all your prayers, calls and texts! I love you all...
ReplyDeleteI have to post my thoughts from the KJV, Luke 4:18:
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives, and
recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised,"
This verse has been my prayer for the past few weeks. I have needed my Jesus to bind up my broken heart. I have prayed many times for him to bind up those with broken hearts. He has been so very good to me.
We suffer earthquakes in our lives, as hard to recover from as the ruins in Japan right now, but our God has sent us Jesus to bind up our broken hearts.
He has been sent to captives to deliver them.
He has been sent to give sight to the blind.
He has been sent to set at liberty those who are bruised.
What binds you?
Feel the freedom...breathe in life...look at the bruises on your wrists where you have been bound. Christ has come.
Christ has come.
No greater message has ever been spoken.
Christ has come.
I just heard the ding on my phone and it was you! I'm jumping up and down! I've been here every day waiting for you! So thrilled you are back. You have been missed! Your Voice is His! Psalm 84:11 No good thing will He withhold from you cause you walk like you post, so full of His Spirit. Yes, He has come and it's a Beautiful Fragrance you leave here. Love you so! Will continue to pray for the nearness of God to be your good---it so is! Love you so! Bev
ReplyDeleteMary Lou, I am so praying for you as you wait upon the LORD and see His Goodness. Psalm 27: 13-14. Love, Love, Love!
ReplyDeleteYay, our Twinkle is back. You were missed!
ReplyDeleteHe has come indeed! So good to read your words, Deborah. Sending love.
Bev, If you only knew how many times I have prayed for you. Your words tonight bless me as I lay here and feel like my blood pressure is really dropping, which I have felt in the past few weeks and did not know what it was, just thought it was the pressure dropping and it was the heart being out of rhythm...I read those verses in Psalm every night before going to bed and Psalm 112:7. May He be the lifer of your head and may He come and free you from this suffering. He will sustain you. I have prayed that He would be the lifter of your head many times this week end. You are much loved here on the String...just remember that...sweet dreams is what I am praying for you...Joanne H asked for that and I added her to my list of those I pray for every night and will add you too....
