Luke 3:1 - A Call to Repentance in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, the Word of God came to John in the wilderness. No time passed. John immediately went into the region around the Jordan proclaiming a baptism of repentance, the forgiveness of sins. John preached a profession---a turning from my sins to my Savior. Necessary Repentance. There is no forgiveness of sins, no remission of sins without repentance. And the sign will be the washing with water, your baptism.
This fulfilled Isaiah 40:3-4...
John was the Voice of One crying in the Wilderness.
Repent. Prepare. The Way of the LORD.
Every mountain shall be made low. Ever high thought brought down.
Every valley shall be filled. Our very souls will be leveled.
The crooked shall become straight. All who are broken will be healed.
The rough places will become smooth. Every difficult time will dissipate.
And you will see God. He will be glorified in you.
God is doing it! And it is a good thing!
Whatever Mountain or Valley or Rough Place you face today, know this
The Holy One of Israel said:
In Repentance and Rest you will be saved.
In Quietness and Trust is your strength. Isaiah 30:15
The Message--- Luke 3:16-17 ......"The main character in this drama, to whom I'm a mere stagehand, will ignite the kingdom life, a fire, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out. He's going to clean house—make a clean sweep of your lives. He'll place everything true in its proper place before God; everything false he'll put out with the trash to be burned."
ReplyDeleteHe has come and He will make our crooked paths straight and level our rough places....what a Savior! May we submit and let Him fill our lives and all of our empty places. He's still cleaning out trash in my heart and I am so thankful!
ReplyDelete"The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord" John spoke it with the urgency it deserved. The Savior of the World was on His way to that very spot.
ReplyDeleteThere's a Voice in our wilderness pointing the path, showing the way of the Lord. That Road looks so different that this world's freeways to hell. The road to Him is narrow but He levels it for us and makes it straight. Turn away from sin and turn toward the Savior. He's leading the way.

ReplyDeleteThis stagehand woke up broken this morning. In a funk and I will trust him here. Feels like I've hit a rock bottom and it's hard to stand in the turbulence. There are so many of you that are struggling with really big things and I don't want to ask to pray we find jobs but we have fallen on desperate times over here. "My heart has carried me away" Job 15:12.

ReplyDeleteMy heart is broken for my little sister. I came to be His hands and feet to serve my sister and her family after she had a somewhat elective surgery that left her needing a walker and someone to help her with every step. Before I got here yesterday I was worried about me and my pathetic comfort zone. I don't deserve the life God gave me, while my sister has had to struggle for most of her life. I am embarrassed by my attitude. Her daughter who will be 14 said a little while ago that their family could be a movie. Although I told her every family has their stuff, I stopped not to thank God for my life, but to ask Him why mine is so much easier? Her son is flat on his back right now having a tick that stiffens his entire body. He has Tourettes and it's so scary. I'm supposed to take both of her kids to Hilton Head Island for a fun couple of days, but I'm scared to death he will do something that I won't know how to handle. I'm worried about three days while my sister has it every day. Please, don't pray for me, I beg you to pray for the Lamb family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. They need God most desperately!
Love, Angie
I will pray for them Angie. She trusts you with her boy! I will pray that the couple of days you have with them will be so very good for all! So sorry that your sister has all this going on. I know what you mean about asking people to pray. But we want to pray for you and your beautiful heart for your sister. I'll stand with you in prayer for them! Thank you so much for sharing with us.
