Luke 1:35 - "The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you;
therefore the child to be born will be called Holy, the Son of God.
For nothing will be impossible with God. Not with God and Mary.
But nothing's impossible with God Alone.
Luke 1:38 - "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord;
Let it be to me according to your word."
Mary's story is different from Zechariah
who had to know how it would happen in light of the circumstances.
Mary looked not at her circumstances but said: "Let it be to me."
Mary had not met Jesus yet. She knew her Most High God.
So what do I face this day, this week that I may ask
for the Power of the Most High to overshadow me,
to call me out to say: "Let it be to me."
As I access parts of my heart, do I find a desire Stronger than
My wish to be satisfied with Life's Opportunities.
Does my desire for spiritual formation lie on top
of those self-focused desires like an attractive veneer?
The Desire that Christ be formed in me, Gal 4:19
needs to be the controlling foundation of my life.

Those five words penetrate through layers of flesh. Let it be to me. Oh God, I so long to access those parts of my heart that want recognition and validation. There are desires that will remain unsatisfied til the next life and I so want to engage that battle and not miss truly living.

Would love to attend the She Speaks Conference so I blogged here: http://beverly-brandon.blogspot.com about the scholarship. These women, , are drawing people to the very heart of God, Gal 4:19, and I so want to learn. Blog by The Fray and leave a comment.
And he came to her and said, "Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!" We all want to feel like we are someone's "favorite" and I'm not going to lie... I do too! I love how we are all His favorite!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your transparency, Bev! I know you want what He wants for your life. I'm praying that His will be done in your life. You are His favorite!

ReplyDeleteAre you OKAY??????????
Love you so!
My family doc called as I arrived to teach school this a.m. and scared me so. Said I needed to come back to see him asap as my blood work came back out of skelter. Yikes! I just had complete blood count and the works last week @ oncologist. Went in this afternoon. It's my thyroid. Score doubled in one week. And it threw several areas out of sync. He put me on thyroid meds for life. I don't want my hope to be in good test results but only in what He holds for my life. I so want to find my joy in Him. So, thanks for praying for me today. It was so scary and He so showed up for me on the way to the office. Holly even called me on the way and said: Do not be afraid, it's your thyroid---you know, she's just gone through this. At least now I know why I am so exhausted since Christmas. I walk & jog 1-2 hours every day and push myself and won't let up but I will now. Thank you so much for praying for me. Means a lot to know that you are. My Love to each of you.
