The Miraculous Healing of a Demoniac...demons sent into 2,000 pigs...and they cared more about the pigs.
Followed by Desperate Daughters who just needed the Touch of Jesus Christ.
Now silence...sheer sound of silence, Psalm 46:10 The Message...
Herodias wants the head of John the Baptist on a platter. Mark 6:27
And Immediately, the King had John beheaded in prison...and there was the sheer sound of silence from Jesus---Psalm 46:10---Be Still & Know that I Am God (Message).
What did His disciples think as they laid a headless body in a tomb? Beloved John. Family.
Is a full life about getting to walk your son down the aisle on his wedding day? What does the abundant life look like?
Words couldn't control the demoniac. Neither could chains. What comes to your mind? I was going to share a scene from my childhood but it's too raw, too undone to leave as a comment. I just know that I've become a desperate daughter because I needed a Redeemer to save me from myself. And how He has changed my life is unspeakable. Sometimes Silence and Sometimes Shifts that are unimaginable and unexplainable! God, would you help us all to face and embrace Your Will--- your handwriting on our hearts, demoniacs and daughters and disciples beheaded.
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago I probably would have said that a full life would be seeing your children grown, established and "happy"....not anymore. My thinking has shifted dramatically. I am seeking to embrace His will for what He will show me as His will. My children are grown and one is actively seeking His will and the other one is stumbling, looking for it, but he is looking. Oh, may I be able to embrace His will for all of our lives and then rest in it.

ReplyDeleteMark 6:12 -13 "Then they were on the road. They preached with joyful urgency that life can be radically different; right and left they sent the demons packing; they brought wellness to the sick, anointing their bodies, healing their spirits."
A radically different life is there for the taking. God is in total control of all the demons that have affected our lives. He is in control.
Bev, I can't imagine what you have been through, but I know where you are now. You are right where you should be at this time and place, sharing, loving, encouraging. You are a greatly loved daughter of Christ and a greatly loved sister of the Pearls.

I am more certain that the abundant life doesn't look like I thought it would, too.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it mostly consists of peeling back layers. Sometimes they're raw and painful--like sitting still long enough for Him to remove the splinter. Sometimes it's unexpected joy in the middle of the junk life seems to bring. The weird part is the abundant life for me is rarely in the times when all is going well. I seem to stagnate and grow lazy in my faith when I don't have a pressing need and longing in my heart.
One thing, in all circumstances, the abundant life has an element of worship to it, an element of revelation and acknowledgment of the Giver. And with that, there is a satiated feeling of more than enough.
So that is my prayer for the Pearls today--that we experience the place of more than enough.
